Flex Builder released

The long-promised IDE for Flex development has been released, and is available at Macromedia's site. Seems a lot like a Dreamweaver for RIA's, featuring Code vs. Design views, styling, and CSS support.

OT Friday: Doug Hughes is losing it

Doug Hughes, quasi-infamous author of the Alagad Image Component, is my neighbor in my office, occupying the cube next door.

I also think he's losing at, as the following has been said, mainly to himself, in the past five minutes:

Doug: "I'm not sure what I did. This custom tag...you can nest some children in it. And then you can nest another base tag inside them....anyways, the server's just not responding."

Doug: "I think I killed Chewbacca."

Scott: "Han's gonna be pissed."

HowTo: Getting around cfFile security restriction

Well, my hosting company moved me to a 6.1 server after a few requests. They're good folks, but we found out that my account shouldn't have had access to cfFile, and I really don't want to pay more than I'm currently paying.

Good thing the Macromedia's cfFile restriction doesn't apply to direct use of Java.

Best Practice: cfQueryParam and Database Security
