Model-Glue 1.1 Released

Model-Glue 1.1 is officially released. The distro is available via .zip file at http://www.model-glue.com/downloadmg.cfm.

I'd like to give a big thanks to everyone in the Model-Glue community for using the Bleeding Edge Release from Subversion for so long - having you all test the new stuff made this release very easy to move from "bleeding" to "stable."

1.1 does not represent a large increase in feature set. The release notes (below) show that it makes ColdSpring support official, and that there's a few maintenance tweaks and fixes.

Release Notes:

1.1.00 - New Features:

ColdSpring Autowiring: Altering ModelGlue.xml to use the ColdSpringLoader will autowire controllers

Updated Code:

Unnamed (Implicit) results now obey the redirect attribute

Debugging trace is maintained across redirects

Misc. bug fixes and tweaks

7a and Oracle don't mix

It's 7am, and my first task of the day is doing some work with Oracle. Frankly, I don't think this is a fate anyone deserves (on a Monday, no less). How does this company stay in business? It's almost like the best Oracle tools (Toad) were created out of disgust for Oracle's own tools.

Model-Glue 1.1 Release and 2.0 Alpha

I've been a little quiet on the Model-Glue front recently (life's been a bit busy!). 1.1 and 2.0 are both coming down the pipe, and I thought I should blog a bit about timing while a server reboots.

1.1 is code-complete, and has been scaled back (no "Headstart" template) to be primarily a maintenance release, with the only new features being the inclusion of ColdSpring support. For those using the current BER, you already have the 1.1 code. I'll be packaging and deploying the 1.1 zip file later this week.

The 2.0 alpha is near code complete. I've been experimenting with some far-reaching features and decided that the framework was going a bit far in terms of scope, so I'm scaling back some of what it was doing and concentrating on the core. I'll also be adding a bit of reverse-compatibility code to make it very easy to upgrade.

My plan is to release a private 2.0 alpha sometime in the next two weeks, giving particpants time to comment on it while I work on a Flex Derby entry.

If you would like to participate in the 2.0 alpha, please leave me a comment on this post. Those of you who've received the 2.0 design doc are already on the list.
