7a and Oracle don't mix

It's 7am, and my first task of the day is doing some work with Oracle. Frankly, I don't think this is a fate anyone deserves (on a Monday, no less). How does this company stay in business? It's almost like the best Oracle tools (Toad) were created out of disgust for Oracle's own tools.

ha! hey, I'm a daily Oracle user. Check out Oracle's new SQL Developer tool. It's free and works fairly well. It is not nearly as powerful as the Toad, but unless your an actual DBA yo uprobably don't use all the power the great Toad has.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I used to be an Oracle Weenie but then I got schooled by the Open Source world of PostGreSQL. Then I saw even MS SQL Server. And I realized that the reason why Oracle is considered number 1 has nothing to do with real-world capabilities and everything to do with name branding.

That too bad Joe... I really liked Oracle as a DB when I was working on it. (In fact, I prefer it way over MSSQL)

I also used PL/SQL developer as an IDE for interacting with Oracle - maybe you could try that, I found it not half bad.
